“The Goan Green Curry Sauce is one of our most popular sauces, and we are thoroughly delighted that the judges of the Great Taste Awards 2010 agree that it’s something very special“. It was a pleasure to receive such wonderful feedback from one of our customers recently and would like to mention it – as below
“I am compelled to write to you because of your (hot) Methi Sauce.
A brief explanation; I ‘discovered’ methi when I was living in Twickenham when I was about 20 years old.
There was a restaurant called ‘Standard Tandoori’ which offerred a dish called ‘Methi Gosht’ or mutton with methi sauce. I had grown up on English versions of Madras and Vindaloo and Rogan Josh, but this first ‘authentic’ flavour was a revelation to me.
Ever since, I have always judged a restaurant on whether they serve a methi dish, or if they are prepared to make one specially for me, and 95% of the time I have endured chicken tikka prepared chicken/lamb with a non descript sauce with a few, possibly methi leaves thrown in to humour me.
Fast forward about 5 – 6 months ago, we found that there was a ‘Farmers Market’ in nearby Surbiton, and always looking for quality products we stumbled across your stall. You had a guy working with you who was a Fulham fan, and we enjoyed a chat, and then I saw the Methi Sauce. I tried it and was so pleased I had, it brought back memories of how a ‘curry’ should taste, flavour and heat without each cancelling out each other.
Since then we have been regulars, and have bought your your bhaji’s and samosa to compliment the sauces, and have not been disappointed.
Today I have prepared a methi chicken. Fine sliced onions, celery salt, corriander and dried methi leaves with a fine sliced red chilli, using 5 breasts of chicken and your sauce with the emptied jar full of water to thin the sauce a little.
I am in raptures of pleasure, your sauce is a triumph, I cannot praise it enough, the word exquisite does not do it justice. If I had money I would become a partner in your business!
This saturday we tried your sauce ‘dips’ and also bought the fruity curry for my wife and the medium curry which also tasted fantastic and authentic, we hope you branch out with a bombay aloo too!
Thank you, so very much for making available your sauces, you have made jaded taste buds and I very happy”.
My very best regards – Ed & Sue Holford
The show was a great success for Anila’s Authentic Sauces who exhibited for the second time. There were buyers from farm shops and delis as well as health food stores. We have already received orders and are confident that they will be widely available in many more health stores and independent speciality food shops in the country. We have had great interest from distributors in Europe from Iceland to Lithuania. People were amazed at the freshness and taste of the curry sauces and especially of the taste of the fresh fruits in our chutneys and pickles.
I brought away some of Anila’s curry sauces from the Outdoors Show at the NEC. When my two teenage daughters suddenly presented me with an extra two teenagers to feed the following teatime, I decided to whip up a curry using the Goan green curry sauce. I added some green beans, potato chunks and paneer, and it was a huge success. There wasn’t a single thing left on any plate, and the girls all said how wonderful it was! Thank you…I am fully expecting to be invaded by further teenagers in the future once they get to hear about how tasty your sauces are! Good job I came away with a few jars!

The Crowthorne Country Fair was a great success and was well attended in the Parish Hall on Saturday 13th March.
Anila’s sold out of all her curry sauces on the day as well as most of the chutneys and pickles. Thank you all for supporting the fair.
THE FARMA SHOW – TELFORD
The show was a great success for Anila’s Authentic Sauces who exhibited at the FARMA show for the first time. There was great interest in the curry sauces, chutneys and pickles with comments on how fresh and tasty they were. The show which was held on Wed 27th at the Telford centre was attended by buyers and owners of farm shops in the country. Anila’s products are available in farms shops, delicatessens and independent stores and health stores throughout the UK and in Ireland.
My cookery class with Carol and Sandra was very rewarding as they enjoyed it thoroughly and as cooks joined in with enthusiasm. Here is what they said after the class.
“Dear Anila, We just wanted to say a big thank you for such a lovely, inspiring day’s cooking. We really did enjoy it and the food. Everything was so stress free and we came away feeling quite lifted. Thank you again. With our very best wishes.” Carol and Sandra
Fran and John thoroughly enjoyed the vegetarian cookery class, and John especially liked making the samosas (his favourite food). John says “thanks again for a great day and an enjoyable course. Have just made my first batch of 15 Samosas not quite up to your standard but pretty good although in attempting to put in more filling one split in frying.”
Fran says ” Thank you for a wonderful day yesterday! Fab food, company and I learnt loads. Blog post is now up at http://tastytottenham.blogspot.com/.
