Fruity Mild Curry Sauce wins gold at 2018 FreeFrom Food Awards
Anila’s Authentic Sauces scooped Gold award at the 11th FreeFrom Food Awards with its Fruity Mild Curry Sauce in the FODMAP friendly category.
Judges praised the curry sauce – ‘Good rich flavour and nice balance of spices.’ ‘Lovely flavour and packed full of simple, clean ingredients.’ ‘How great to have a curry sauce with no onions!!.’.’ Nice fresh list of ingredients. Easy to use and great to have as a dip as well as a sauce.– tastes homemade. Perfect for busy families.’
Anila’s were one of over 30 winners to be presented with their certificates before 300 guests at the Royal College of Physicians at the FreeFrom Food Awards annual networking party.
Anila’s Sauces also won 2 Silver Awards for the Dhansak Korma Curry Sauce in both the FODMAP friendly category and the No Top 14 category being free of all of the major 14 allergens. They also won 3 x Bronze Awards for the Goan Green Curry Sauce in the FODMAP friendly category. The Spicy Mild Curry Sauce won Bronze in both the FODMAP friendly category and the No Top 14 category. Judges said ‘’I really like the spice level of this sauce. This looked as good as any homemade sauce – great ingredients.’

It was like the icing on the cake to be recognised as a great tasting, premium product, full of flavour making them suitable for those with various dietary requirements.”.

Gluten free, dairy free, onion free, garlic free and with no added sugar and FODMAP friendly, the curry sauce is one of eight curry sauces produced by Anila’s alongside a range of 15 chutneys and pickles, based in Walton, Surrey, with a production unit in Hounslow.

The Goan Green Curry Sauce was named a winner in the FreeFrom Food Awards 2012 when the judges said: “Anila’s sauces are always so wonderful as she uses such beautifully fresh and pure ingredients in such perfect balance. Lovely, subtle flavours, gently permeated by the coconut milk. Deep green flavour and fantastic ingredients. It was previously named Best Vegan Product in The Veggie Awards 2011 by Cook Vegetarian magazine, with the judges saying: “Not only one of the best vegan curry sauces we’ve ever tried but one of the best curry sauces available. Its complexity of flavours makes its taste truly sensational.”
Director of the awards Michelle Berriedale-Johnson said ‘We wondered whether we had hit the high point last year with our 10th anniversary’, ‘but not at all…. Fantastic entries this year – a wider range of products – so many gluten free beers that we had to schedule multiple judging sessions! And not only excellent products – but SO many of them free of multiple allergens. Again this year our NO TOP 14 allergens category had one of the largest entries. FreeFrom is most definitely still moving onward and upward in every way.’

The Hot Mango Pickle produced by Anila’s Authentic Sauces has struck gold in the Great Taste Awards by winning a gold star rating.

Regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the fine food industry, it was the 12th Great Taste Award won by Anila’s Authentic Sauces, which produces premium curry sauces, pickles, chutneys and dips. The gold star rating means that the judges found the Hot Mango Pickle to be a “virtually faultless food”.

Their comments included “we love the flavour of the raw mango”, “open textured and chunky giving it a rustic appearance. Nice to see the chilli seeds” and “a great aroma”.

“I am very pleased to hear that the Hot Mango Pickle has been rated as gold star,” said Anila Vaghela, who is celebrating her 20th year in the business in 2012. “It’s a very popular product with our customers and is made with fresh green mangoes. It’s a perfect accompaniment to many different dishes and snacks, including curries, parathas and chappatis.”

 

Gluten free, dairy free and with no added sugar, the pickle is one of 17 accompaniments and eight curry sauces produced by Anila’s, which is based in Walton, Surrey, with a production unit in Hounslow.

Established over 17 years as a family business based in Surrey producing fine curry sauces, chutneys and pickles Anila’s has become a favourite brand in the curry sauce market.

Anila’s Authentic Sauces has scooped another top accolade for its popular Goan Green Curry Sauce by being named as the Best Vegan Product in The Veggie Awards 2011. The prize-winning product, which won a two ** Gold Great Taste Award in July 2010, was announced as the winner of the vegan category in the awards run by Cook Vegetarian! magazine.

This year Anila’s launched a new Spicy Indian Salsa to mark 20 years since Anila sold her first curry sauce at a local fair.
