Anila Vaghela inherited her skills in the art of cooking from her mother, grandmother and great grandmother and learnt the craft of cooking with love and care at the kitchen table.
It was in March 1992 when Anila had the idea to bottle her home-made curry sauces and sell to the public at her local craft fair. She set out with her dream of bringing authentic Indian food to every dinner table in the UK.
With the help of her husband and two children they began selling her curry sauces at craft fairs. In 1998 Anila established her business and started selling at local farmers markets, gradually building up a host of specialist stockists such as Fortnum & Mason, Harrods, Bentalls and John Lewis Food Halls. Anila has won 11 Great Taste Awards including Best Speciality Award 2005 and Winner in the Free-From Food Award 2009 plus The Best Vegan Product 2011. Her journey of 25 years establishes Anila’s as a lead player in the marketplace with over 500 delicatessens, farm shops, health food stores, food halls, garden centres and other fine food outlets in the UK, Europe and the Far East.
Anila’s will be celebrating throughout the year by exhibiting at shows throughout the country and launching their new product – A Spicy Indian Salsa. Stories and pictures will follow
